Re: What are the people saying about the new translation?
There was no chance of any munity. It was just the usual anti-Rome malcontents trying to stir it up. They haven't realised that things have changed since the Silly Sixties and the Church has moved on. Thank God!

Re: New directions?
Do you feel tempted to take your music planning in any new directions this year?
Personally, I don't want new directions. I'd be happy to see/hear people understanding and implementing the directions we already have in the liturgy documents.

Re: What are the people saying about the new translation?
... (snipped some quite sensible stuff) ...Why is it that THEY (the traddies) are allowed to serve God in their way - Altar rails, archaic and non-inclusive language, the EF mass, communion wine, guitars & altar girls banned - but WE (the Conciliars) are not allowed to serve God in His way?

Re: BBC1 Midnight Mass from Southwark RC Cathedral
Wasn't it marvellous to see all those impressive black people, in choir and congregation, singing all that beautifully appropriate Catholic music instead of being patronised by white middle class liturgical trendies encouraging them to sing more 'ethnic' stuff?

Not uncommon at Southwark. At roughly the same time, Leeds was singing the Sanctus from Mozart's Missa Brevis in C and Westminster was singing Charpentier's Messe de minuit.
