Re: Interview about the Mass Propers with Dr. Mulholland

I did listen to the whole interview, and was struck by the fact that the interviewer, whoever he was . . . (b) was [sic] opinionated but also very ignorant

In that case, it ought to be easy for you to present us with several substantive flaws in his reasoning and argument.

Cannot wait to hear ...

Re: Interview about the Mass Propers with Dr. Mulholland

The texts used by Dr. Proulx are nearly all scripture-based. The same goes for marty Haugen's texts. For example, there are a huge range of scripture quotes in 'Gather us in'.

I'm not sure what the relevance here is. I don't remember the interviewer saying any place, "And none of these texts ...

What's wrong with "Holy God, We Praise Thy Name" ?

As far as I am concerned, nothing is wrong with "Holy God, We Praise Thy Name." I love it.

Re: New Hymnal & Missal for the Extraordinary Form of the Ma

To satisfy your criterion do hymns have to be both the best and most traditional? Of course, only one hymn can be the best hymn, and only one hymn the most traditional. (My English teacher was a pedant.)

It seems to me that if you have three hymns that are better than any other hymns, those three ...

Responsorial Psalms ... for the first time in history

Catholic choirmasters in the UK might be interested in this collection, either to "compare notes" or use them (if the UK Diocesan Bishop approves).

Re: Simple English Propers

Southern Comfort, I have done more than a hundred practice videos using the SEP, and I have only ever seen the Revised Grail. The copyright pages in the SEP also claim the entire thing is Revised Grail.

That being said, I suppose what you claim is not impossible: but, for myself, I have not seen ...

Re: Simple English Propers

IncenseTom, I assume you mean Adam Bartlett's Simple English Propers available online, and not the book of the same name published many years ago by Kevin Mayhew.
If the former, the translation of the psalms used is the New American Bible, which is not approved for use in England and Wales. If the ...
