I cannot tell . .

or rather I can't find! Can anyone help? Is anyone aware of an SA / SSA / SATB arrangement of "I cannot tell who he whoms angels worship" (Londonderry air) is available? I've found countless voice/inst/piano versions on the web but nothing more than that! Appreciate it's really a unison piece, but I ...

Music for the Mass?

Hi,
Does anyone happen to have copies of the assembly (or choir editions) gathering dust of either vol 1 or 2 (red or green) and no longer requires them - they would be very welcome in a good home! Please let me know.
Thanks,
John

God's Spirit is in my heart

Hi,

Does anyone happen to know if an "interesting" arrangement of this hymn exists other than the one in countless hymn books? Perhaps an interesting post 70's descant? - SOMETHING - ANYTHING!! Please!

Re: Sunday Worship from Allen Hall

Music is being led by the SCHOLA CANTORUM from the Vaughan School so don't expect any GIA, OCP, though theres usually some Balfour-Gardiner or Mawby ..

Re: Yamaha Clavinova

We bought one one in my previous Parish about eight years ago and I've just bought the latest model for home. I came to rely on it more and more , especially at our solemn mass where I could record everything the day before and then animate the choir and congregation. The effects are great ...

Re: Easter Sequence

we did Chris Walker's "Christ my hope is risen" that's based on the sequence on easter morning, which went down really well with the congregation, with a really easy to use refrain that everyone could join in to - any others I've ever seen before were all very latin-heavy, so this was a welcomed ...

Re: Stations of the Cross for children

For the last couple of years we've used Chris Walkers/Paule Freeburgs children's stations: m a great resource that's very easy for children to pick up. We use some of the songs within the music/book (a number of which are also used by the adult choir for the st john passion from chris walker on good ...

Not sure if this helps or not: we have six masses for Christmas - 3 on christmas eve and 3 on christmas day. All six cater for six very different age groups, so our music list might help: 5 p.m. First Mass of Christmas (families with babies, toddlers, children up to 6 years old ish) Gat: Little ...

Christmas Brass Parts?

Does anyone know if there are any brass parts in existence for Bernadette Farrell's Christmas Psalm (in Christ be our Light collection). There's a flute part in the inst section but I was wondering if, for this season of celebration, anyone had prepared a brass part of their own?

Vigil We're singing Chris Walker's Out of Darkness for the prep of gifts; David Ogden's beautiful 'I know that my redeemer lives' for communion and Bernadette Farrell's 'We will rise'. These are all congregation pieces, since we're tackling Chris Walker's St John Passion on Good Friday so I think ...

You can find WATER OF NEW BIRTH in Paul Inwood's collection called RITUAL MOMENTS (published by GIA - available from Decani)

Hope this helps!

For that one Mass on Sunday (out of six) there is less of the here-and-now - no Coventry Mass or Celtic Alleluia, but a concerted attempt to use the best means at our disposal to offer a way into the cosmic liturgy that may (hopefully) be more fully appreciable to the congregation . . . . . .We can ...

Where have they gone?

Hi all, Our PP has agreed to a large investment programme to 'enhance' the music in our Parish. This has involved beginning to buy 50 copies of each of the collections we use (which is quite a few), starting with the music we use the most often. I was saddened to hear that all the st Thomas more ...

Music at Westminster

Whatever we choose to use at Westminster must be chosen and used with conviction. It is my conviction that, in the case of our plainsong Mass at least, we are offering something not to be found in the majority of churches, something that is, afterall, part of the musical treasury of the Church ...
