Re: Looking for good tunes & new texts
When planning my Dad's funeral, his parish priest told me of a request for "somewhere over the rainbow" by one family for their mother. He turned it down gently on the basis that if the wrong track was selected they could easily play "Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead" Now there s an idea for my funeral ...

Formation for young singers
A few years ago I was asked to help set a music group to play at the mass mainly attended by families with young children. With a lot of answered ' prayers, we now have a nice group of parents and children who actually play and sing quite well. It hasnt all been plain sailing but I followed a ...

Re: Papal Visit
This is a may not be relevant to recent posts but is definitely relevant to the papal visit. Does anyone here know what preparations are being made for disabled people and those in wheelchairs to access the Cofton Park. I have heard that there are no proper pathways and am hoping that this isnt true ...

It would be to a linguist but to someone like me who is very challenged when it comes to dancing I think I need the whole graveyard - and come to think of it I need the whole graveyard to bury the suspicion

Re: Jesus Christ is waiting
I think I may be being simplistic but I read this as I will follow Jesus' example
I will put aside all my suspiscions, doubts, fears and the barriers which actually stop me reaching out to others, which on occasion lead me to hate and want vengance, and which prevent me from loving and serving all ...

Re: Father's Day
I agree with Northern Tenor and it would be right to transform the traditional custom of going out and buy more socks and toffees (sorry Dad I was never very good with presents) and actually praying for our Fathers.

Father's Day
I may be stirring up a hornet's nest here, but on Sunday as well as being the 12 sunday of the year its Father's day and our children will be leading prayers, readings, and have chosen hymns - most of which are quite reasonable for the readings of the Day (The others Just keep using the word Father ...

I didn't find it daunting on my first summer school last year either. Everyone was really friendly and easy to talk to.
